What are Quakers all about?

If you have never been to a Quaker meeting, you can come along and explore silent worship. Turn down the noise of the world and settle into the stillness.

Quakers value truth, simplicity, equality and peace.

Founded on Christianity, today Quakers come from all faiths and none. Our silent worship allows the voice of calm to speak. Someone may be moved to share their insights; but often the meeting may pass in complete silence for an hour.

Quakers have always been concerned to promote peace. In the world wars of the 20th century there were many conscientious objectors. Our present concerns include climate change and the environment, alleviating poverty and meeting the needs of minorities including those identifying as LGBTQ.

If you want to find out more come and join Meeting for Worship one Sunday. Or contact our warden here. And don’t forget to pick up the red booklet ‘Advices and Queries’!

Children’s Meeting & Toddler Café

Once a month adults along with teenage helpers hold a lively children’s meeting.

However children are welcome anytime, in the Main meeting and also in our Friends Room where we have toys and books and colouring.

Our Monthly Toddler Cafe is a chance for local families to come together and enjoy breakfast, activities and community. It is all free of charge.

Do get in touch if you would like to go on the mailing list for Quaker children’s activities.
